The Perth warm weather isn’t all that far away, so now is the perfect time to start preparing your pool for the swimming season ahead! The following steps will help you achieve a crystal clear swimming pool, so that you won’t be stuck with the last minute rush to get your pool ready to swim in!
1. Remove your pool cover
2. Clean the inside of the pool – Use a leaf skimmer to scoop out any debris from the pool surface, and then brush the pool floor and walls with a pool brush to remove
any grime and dirt.
3. Check the skimmer basket, filter and debris trap on the pool pump to ensure that they are not blocked.
4. Next you will need to inspect all the electrical and plumbing connections and make sure that they all appear in good condition (no rust or leaking).
5. You may now top up the pool. Follow your manufacturer’s instructions carefully so that you fill your pool to the correct level. If you are unsure, contact your pool
manufacturer.
6. Switch your pool pump ON to observe that it is working correctly.
7. Once your equipment checks are complete, begin to vacuum the pool. Be careful not to damage your pool surface when vacuuming.
8. Finally, you will need to check the chemical levels of the pool. We recommend taking a pool water sample to your local pool shop so that they can advise on how to
properly balance your pool water (During the summer months, it is a good idea to get your pool water professionally checked every 3-4 weeks).
